A cyclist has died after being involved in a crash with a tipper lorry near Horsham.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the fatal collision on the A281 at Rudgwick.

A spokesman said: “Around 10.45am on Wednesday (22 July) officers responded to reports of a road traffic collision involving a cyclist and a Renault HGV tipper lorry on the A281 Guildford Road, Rudgwick.

“The cyclist, a man in his 20s from Morden in Surrey, was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed.”

An ambulance service spokesman confirmed they attended the scene along with the air ambulance.

He added: “Sadly the road traffic collision proved fatal and a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The A281 has now reopened to traffic.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dash cam footage to make contact.
