Casualty taken to hospital after crash outside Petworth

At 7am, A285 Duncton High Street was reportedly closed both ways after a vehicle overturned between Beechwood Lane and The Drive.

South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics were called just after 7am to reports of an overturned car at the junction.

A spokesman said: “We sent one ambulance crew to the scene.

“One person had suffered a potential head injury and was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to St Richard’s Hospital.”

Traffic in the area, which had been reported as very slow, is now flowing as normal, according to traffic reports.
