A community event to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III is being planned by Horsham District Council.

The event, in The Carfax, will be held on Sunday May 7, the day after the King is crowned.

During a meeting of the cabinet on Thursday (January 26), Roger Noel, cabinet member for leisure and culture also announced that grants of up to £200 would be available to help parish and neighbourhood councils with their own celebrations.

The council also plans to waive the normal fees charged for public street party road closures over the Bank Holiday weekend of May 6-8.

The plans will be discussed and decided at a meeting of the full council on February 22.
