Body found in search for Eastbourne man missing in Thailand

A body has been found in the search for an Eastbourne man reported missing while on holiday in Thailand.

Andrew Apperley, 38, was last known to be going to a Full Moon Party on Ko Pha Ngan island on February 12.

His whereabouts have not been known since.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police, where his family are from, said, “Following inquiries with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office we can confirm that a body has been found in the search for Andrew Apperley.

“While formal identification has not yet taken place Andrew’s family have been informed.

“The circumstances of the death are unknown at this time.

“Our thoughts are with Andrew’s friends and family at this time.

“Andrew’s family are in direct contact with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and we will continue to offer any support the family needs.”

A Foreign Office spokesperson said, “We are providing support to the family of a British national who has been reported missing in Thailand.

“We are in contact with local authorities.”
