Police appeal for information following criminal damage at Polegate Miniature Railway

Police have responded to reports of antisocial behaviour at the miniature railway club in Polegate.

Polegate Miniature Railway, in Brightling Road, suffered criminal damage on June 22 which was believed to have been caused by local youths, according to police.

Police said community support officers from the Hailsham neighbourhood policing team attended the site to make enquiries as well as to offer support and advice.

A spokesperson from Sussex Police said, “The club relies on donations and is an important part of the community.”

Police community support officer Richie Davidson said, “We are looking to talk to anyone who has information regarding the recent antisocial behaviour or can help identify those responsible.

“If you are witness to any of the anti-social behaviour effecting the club, you know the youths involved, or you have information on any crime within the wider community please report it via 101 in a non-emergency or on the Sussex website quoting ref 7476 of 13/07.”
