Mums and babies see films

FOR all those new mums who thought their trips out to the cinema were a distant memory, then think again.

A new mother and baby cinema club has been set up at the Ropetackle Arts Centre, Shoreham, by a group of mums who did not want to give up their cinema-going days.

There's a chance to go along, when the doors open at 10am, to have a tea or coffee and a chat with the other mums, along with their babies, before the film starts at 11am every month on a Thursday.

Louise Goodall, who has seven-month-old Millie, said: "The screening is particularly for parents with babies, so your baby can scream, feed or have a nappy change and nobody minds a bit. We need to spread the word so we can gain enough interest to show two films a month.

"It's great for mums who are at home with babies under a year and want to get out to meet others and see the latest films, while not having to find a babysitter or crche, especially in winter time."

On Thursday, Louise, and her friends, Charly Dryer, with Hattie, five months, Melanie Woolnough, with six-month-old Emily, and Sam Grice, with six-month-old twins Abigail and Lilly-Anna, had all turned up to watch the action thriller film The Bourne Ultimatum.

On February 28, the family film We Shall Overcome is being shown. Details of the films are at www.ropetacklecentre.co.uk
