The Bodyguard - the award-winning musical based on the blockbuster film - is heading to Eastbourne from June 7-18 starring three-time Brit nominee and X-Factor winner, Alexandra Burke as Rachel Marron.

Direct from its smash-hit West End run, the show is coming to dazzle audiences at the Congress Theatre for one week.

Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect superstar Rachel from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge – what they don’t expect is to fall in love.

A breathtakingly romantic thriller, The Bodyguard features a whole host of Whitney Houston’s greatest hits including Queen of the Night, So Emotional, One Moment In Time, Saving All My Love, Run To You, I Have Nothing, Jesus Loves Me, I Wanna Dance With Somebody and one of the greatest hit songs of all time – I Will Always Love You.

Whitney Houston made her luminous screen debut in the film in 1992, playing the vulnerable music superstar under threat and the film became the second highest grossing of the year, while the music contributed to a best-selling soundtrack which spent 20 weeks at Number 1 in the album charts.

Her version of Dolly Parton’s song I Will Always Love You was Number 1 for 14 weeks that year and became one of the defining songs of Whitney’s entire career.

Based on the Warner Bros. film (screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan) The Bodyguard is described as a runaway gold-plated musical hit full of stunning highlights.

This has been singer Alexandra Burke’s first ever tour in a musical, and an experience she loves so much that she has recently signed up to appear as the lead role in Sister Act which will be touring the UK throughout 2016 and 2017.

She is not scheduled to perform at midweek or Saturday matinees including any revised matinee performances. The producers of The Bodyguard cannot guarantee the appearance of any particular artist, which is always subject to illness and holidays. Please check website for full performance schedule.

Tickets cost £26 – £46.50 from or call box office on 01323 412000.
