Explore delights of Royal Hippodrome

The Royal Hippodrome Friends are again offering tours of the theatre once a month throughout the year.

The first of these will take place on Friday February 5 at 10.30am. Visitors will be told some of the history of the oldest theatre in Eastbourne and taken backstage to see areas of the theatre not normally available to the public.

Member Pam Kuhn said: “You get the chance to stand on the very stage that so many famous names have done (and are still doing) in the past 133 years.

“There is no need to book, tickets are available on the door at £4.50 and the tour lasts approximately 90 minutes.

“We just might ask you to wipe your feet carefully on entering as the Friends have spent the last two weeks of January giving the place a refurbish and lots of TLC. We look forward to seeing welcoming you to the Royal Hippodrome in Seaside Road.”
