Young Jamie badly hurt in crash

County League ThreePeacehaven 3 Wadhurst 2Peacehaven'S young striker Jamie Wright was seriously injured in a car accident on Friday. Manager Darren Guirey said: 'We're all gutted for him at the club and wish him well. We're all thinking of him.

'He has a broken knee and broken ankle and problems with his back.'

Guirey was delighted with the victory but was disappointed at both the chances squandered and slackness that allowed outplayed United to score twice.

Guirey went on: 'Our build-up play was excellent but the finishing was poor. We hit the post six times and their goalkeeper made some cracking saves. I reckon we had 26 chances.'

Peacehaven opened the scoring on four minutes when Dan Murray lobbed the Wadhurst goalkeeper.

After wasting many chances they had to wait until the 53rd minute when Simon Bailey crossed and a Wadhurst player diverted the ball into his own net.

Robbie Brown got the third with three minutes left with a good header from a corner.

The news of Soulemain Diarra, hurt against Uckfield a fortnight ago, is that he has ruptured ankle ligaments.
