WICKERS SLIP INTO MORE TROUBLE

IF SOUTHWICK are to haul themselves clear of the relegation dogfight, then the new players Sammy Donnelly has brought in have to gel and quickly.

Friday night's encounter with one of Donnelly's previous clubs gave the Wickers boss the opportunity to field his two latest signings Danny Smith from Worthing and Simon Funnell, whose contract at Bognor was cancelled in time for him to play.

Just four of the starting 11 at Old Barn Way on Friday have survived from the start of the season. Defenders Jason Tighe and Jamie Ash, along with midfielders Chris Brown and Jack Dineen are the only remains from the Bob Hitchcock era, but the replacements although better quality are taking a little too much time to bed in.
