There's no D-Day doom for Chichester runners in Portsmouth

Ex-Chichester junior Jo Corbett won the race in just outside 32 minutes to relegate local favourite James Baker to second place – with Baker one of only two other athletes to break 33 minutes.

This was a fine achievement from both athletes as in-form Baker had previously won the recent Worthing 10k by a clear margin.

Not far behind was the third Chichester runner Martin Barwood, in sixth place overall from the 300-plus finishers.

Barwood has made good strides over the longer marathon distance this year.

This is the first time Chichester Runners have so dominated an event which is usually the domain of the Hampshire clubs.
