Striker's shoulder problem needs an op

BOGNOR still don't know how big a part Luke Nightingale will play in the rest of their season.

Doctors have confirmed the striker and club captain needs an operation on his troublesome shoulder.

The question is when surgery will take place, and whether Nightingale might still be able to get through any games with pain-killing injections.

The Rocks' medical staff and Nightingale are trying to work out the best way forward.

He missed last week's win over Braintree and seems likely to be missing again this Saturday.

The good news is Dan Beck is in good form and Mark Knee has weighed in with his share of goals as a stand-in striker in recent weeks.

The bad news is that Beck is suspended for next week's six-pointer at Sutton '“ and the club have no other recognised strikers.

Other news on injuries is mixed.
