Stephen has got his teeth back into golf

NEW Hill Barn Golf Club champion Stephen Webber chucked in golf when he was 16 '” and took up girls.

But three years later, a friend of his sister suggested they have a game together for fun and he saw golf in a fresh light of love.

Two years on, Webber at the age of 21 became the first of his golfing family to bring home a club championship title.

Webber explained: "I was playing off 12 handicap but golf was stressing me out and there were more interesting things to do.

"Then this friend and I just went to have a game for fun. It was his idea, but I shot 78, eight over par. That told me that, when I'd given up golf, all it had been was a blip when I was playing badly, and that I should give it a go again."
