Siggy doubtful for Weston trip

LEWES manager Steve King could be without star striker Jean-Michel Sigere as the Rooks visit Weston-super-Mare in the Conference South tomorrow.

Siggy has gone down with the flu-like symptoms similar to those suffered by Amos Foyewa, Jay Lovett and Max Hustwick before they contracted mumps.

King said: 'Siggy shares a house with Jay Lovett during the week, so it's worrying.

'Carl Beckford will be missing at Weston with a hamstring problem and Luke Fontana and Steve Robinson are only 50-50 for the game as they also have niggly hamstrings.

'I might have to pair Jamie Cade and Manny Omoyinmi up front, but they're little and Weston have some massive defenders.

'Robbie Kember, on loan from Crawley for a month, will be available, and I'm hoping to get Mark Wright back from Southend.

'If Wright is available Djoumin Sangare might have to move into central defence with Leon Legge and Dean Hooper can play at right back.

'I don't have any money available to me to bring in anyone and it's all so frustrating.

'I reckon our recent defeats against Eastleigh and St Albans means we want nine wins from the last 15 games for 70 points to make the play-offs and that's going to be tough. Still something could go our way this weekend as Cambridge City play Welling, Histon meet Farnborough and Thurrock are at Dorchester.'

The Rooks beat Weston 5-2 at the Dripping Pan in October when Gavin Holligan netted twice and Sangare, Sigere and Foyewa got the others.

Weston have the second worst defensive record in the division, having conceded 55 goals, and have lost seven of their 13 home games. The West Country side have kept only two clean sheets in the league all season '“ against Carshalton and at home in a 1-0 win at Thurrock on Saturday.
