Nine goals put Bexhill AAC top

RAIN affected Saturday s Brewers East Sussex Football programme but Bexhill AAC escaped the weather to move top of the Premier Division with a 9-1 thrashing of Sandhurst.

AAC s Godden and Rogers man of the match Mark Pickles scored a hat-trick as did Terry Taylor, with Wayne Jackson, Ian Oliver and Gavin Wright adding to the score and Andrew Turner netting the solitary reply.

Old Centmodians beat Rolvenden 6-5 in an 11 goal thriller in Division Two with Keith Lowes (3), Neil Smith, Richard Sutton and Shane Lynskey on target for Centmodians and Kevin Homewood (3), Alan Newman and Stephen Ryan for Rolvenden.

Carl Morris hit the only goal for Division Three leaders Hooe Sports as they beat Eastbourne Fishermen 1-0, while Pebsham Sibex narrowly beat Hillcrest 3-2. Dave Warren (2) and Justin Goodheart scored for the victors and Simon Porter and Tim Fletcher for Hillcrest.

Hellingly Hospital kept their 100 per cent record in Division Six intact with a 6-1 hammering of Bexhill AAC. Dion Smith hit four and Jon Parks two with Andy Matthews netting the consolation.

Steve Colvin, Colin Spray and Jake Hillier earned Mountfield a 3-2 win over Travaux whose goals came from Trevor Thorogood.

Catsfield stay top of Division Seven as a hat-trick from Shane Peoples and goals from Wayne Davison, James Usher and Lee Stoner gave them a 6-2 victory at White Knight who replied through Lee Kenward and Justin Stevens.

Danny Juniper s goal was not enough for Icklesham Casuals who lost 2-1 to Magham Down who scored through Jack Powell and Jason Hazelhurst.

In the first round of the Robertsbridge Charity Intermediate Cup, Rock-a-Nore crashed 5-1 to Icklesham Casuals. Richard Brady (3), and Adam Bourne (2) scored for Casuals and Kevin Butler replied for the Rocks.

In the third round of the SCFA Junior Cup, Punnets Town beat Magham Down 5-4 with strikes from Kevin Dixon (2), Matthew Walker (2) and an own goal while Danny Laycock (2), Tom Merrit and Stephen Nash replied for Magham.

Jon Lilly and Nathan Dunn netted for Wadhurst United II as they lost 4-2 to Clymping.
