LONG SERVICE BY DUO RECOGNISED

BRITISH Horse Society fellows Tessa and Diana Martin-Bird have been presented with long- service awards.

Recognising their outstanding commitment and dedication to the BHS as volunteers during the past 30 years, they were presented by BHS president Desi Dillingham and chairman Patrick Print.

Diana and her daughter, Tessa, who are based in West Sussex, have worked tirelessly for the society and the horse world in general for many years.

Tessa said: "The society has done a huge amount for me. Giving something back has been an enormous pleasure."

Diana said: "Being given this award for doing something I love makes me a very lucky person."

Desi said: "The society has a world position and world respect. It's achieved that respect thanks to the people who have served the society absolutely unselfishly and through thick and thin. This is especially true of the Martin-Bird family, who are synonymous with the society's success."
