LEWES FC SCORE FIVE

A GOAL FEST at the Dripping Pan on Saturday saw Lewes FC dispatch basement dwellers Bedford 5-1 in an excellent display.

Paul Booth and Lee Farrell were outstanding.

When the Bedford keeper fell awkwardly in the second minute Andy Drury lobbed calmly into a vacant net from distance.

Steve King's men went further ahead after 18 minutes when Farrell latched on to a pass from Paul Booth to finish from close range.

And the youngster registered a brace on 26 minutes with Booth again providing the assist.

The home side were playing fluent football now despite the heavy pitch and when Booth made a penetrating run down the left flank he was brought down in the area. The striker slotted home the penalty himself.

There was another for Booth midway though the second half before Bedford scored a consolation.

But its nature might have caused Steve King concern as new keeper Steve Williams appeared to lose concentration and was lobbed spectacularly by Gavin Hoyte from inside his own half.
