King relief at England call-up

Yolanda King has been selected to represent her country in the European Youth Table Tennis Championships.

The 17-year-old from Hastings, who is currently training at the Grantham Academy, has been chosen to play for England juniors (under-18s) in Schwechat, Austria, from July 13-22, travelling out on July 11.

The news will come as a relief to King, the current England no.5 girl, as although she has been ranked no.2 throughout most of the season, her results have been mixed, particularly recently.

There will be a European Youth preparation training camp at the English Institute of Sport (EIS) in Sheffield at the beginning of next month.
