Ryan builds a new beginning for Haywards Heath Town

As soon as new Heath Manager Ryan Andrews took charge it became apparent that last season’s 1st team squad had already left the club and so rebuilding for the season ahead was priority number one.

The mass exodus of last season’s 1st team squad has meant that some of last season’s fringe players have been given an opportunity to impress during pre season. It has also given new Heath manager, Ryan Andrews, the chance to bring in some fresh faces and see if Heath can improve on last season’s position in the table. For many managers this may have been seen as a bridge too far but New Heath Boss Andrews has been working tirelessly to put together a new look Heath side capable of competing in County Division 2.

“When I came to the club I was totally unaware that all of last terms squad had already decided to play their football elsewhere, so it did come as a surprise and somewhat of a challenge. It’s a very unusual situation that I have never experienced at any club before but it is the situation so we’ve just had to get on with it. The message from most of the players was that they wanted to play higher which is something I would never criticise, although I did point out that had they achieved promotion then they could of all played in County 1 with Hayward’s Heath.

“It has all meant that Pre season has been very challenging, trying to see all of the players that have remained from last season plus triallists and players I’ve brought to the club.

“However, I’ve now arrived at a squad that I’m happy with, certainly to start with anyway and I just want the season to start now so we can test ourselves.”
