Golds were promoted as Division 2 champions last season and boss Mark Bennett has added three new faces, as well as keeping the majority of his title-winning squad together.

Attacking midfielder Liam Humphreys has joined from Storrington, and striker Ash Harper and midfielder Mark Burgess have re-joined the club.

Golds have, however, lost last season’s top-scorer George Gaskin, who has moved back to former club East Preston, while Adam Bibb has joined Arundel.

Bennett is also hoping to add another two or three new players to his side this week.

He said: “We tried to get Liam in last year, but he was very loyal to Storrington and wanted to stay there.

“He had been training with both of us this year and decided he wanted to give Division 1 a go.

“I think he’s good enough, he’s a nice lad and has been working hard at training.

“I’m pleased to have Mark and Ash in as well. Ash was with us for a little while last year, but was unsettled as Barnham wanted him back.

“He’s definitely good enough and I think he’s going to be a really good player. He scored six goals in the eight games he played for us last year.”
