Manchester United players told to stay away from Carrington training base

The Premier League suspended the season last week until April 3, at the earliest due to the coronavirus.

Hide AdUnited had been training since their comprehensive Europa League victory at LASK last Thursday, which was contested behind closed doors.
However, the club have now told their squad to stay away from Carrington and that the situation is under constant review.
A club spokesperson said: “We continue to review the situation day by day, but in light of [the] evolving situation and latest governmental guidance the team will now be training individually away from the ATC [Aon training complex].”
Premier League clubs are due to meet to discuss the situation on Thursday.

Hide AdLast week Brighton said players will continue to train at their Lancing base but Albion defender Ezequiel Schelotto is happy to put football on hold for a few weeks, insisting that supporting people who are experiencing a difficult time because of the coronavirus should take priority.
He said, “We are not robots so nothing will change if a game is not played for a few weeks.
“We have to be in this together and follow the rules to protect ourselves from the disease.
“Here in England the situation is not the same as it is in Italy, which lives in general quarantine. We have to try to stay calm and support those who are having a difficult time.”
