Bexhill midfielder in fresh injury blow

Jethro Warren faces another spell on the sidelines because of a knee injury.

The Bexhill United midfielder, who was out for several weeks with foot injuries last season and at the start of the current campaign, suffered his latest setback when his studs got caught in the turf during last weekend’s win at Oakwood.

Bexhill manager Gerard Moyse said: “He went to the hospital on Monday and they’re on about doing an MRI scan on Sunday so they obviously think it’s quite serious. They’re saying it might be torn medial ligaments, but they can’t really tell while it’s swollen. He’s not been working this week and just keeping it elevated.”

Warren’s injury means Bexhill will be without both central midfielders for the Division Two Challenge Cup second round tie away to Westfield on Saturday because Marc Munday serves a one-match suspension.
