Littlehampton reach T20 Finals Day

LITTLEHAMPTON Cricket Club vice-captain Chris Heberlein was delighted to reach the West Sussex Invitation League’s T20 Finals Day on Sunday.

Littlehampton reached the Finals Day with a 28-run win over St Andrews as Ally James starred with the bat, with 56, to help his side reach 166-5 in 20 overs.

Daniel White and Amjad Mohsin both then claimed three wickets as St Andrews were all out for 138 in 18.4 overs.

Heberlein was pleased with the way his side played and said: “It’s great to get to Finals Day.

“We reached the quarter-final stage last season, so to go one stage further this time out is brilliant.

“It was a great performance by all the lads.

“We probably should have got more runs than we did but 166 is what we had to defend.

“Daniel White plays for our under-14 side, so for him to get three wickets was excellent.

“I have already received lots of text messages from the boys letting me know they are available for Finals Day and it will be great to be there.”

Finals Day will be held at Preston Nomads’ ground on Sunday, September 7, with Southwater, Ram and Brighton & Hove joining Littlehampton.
