Lionesses roar! Women's cricket returns to Chichester
The Lionesses were well led by Emma Bennison, daughter of CPP president Graeme Bennison. The Wolverines batted first making 126-4 from 16 overs.
There were useful contributions from Emma Hutton (15) and Laura Parfoot (23), while Sharron Nicholson took two wickets for Chi. The Lionesses won with an over to spare after excellent batting by Bennison (36). Poppy Walker made 24, Demelza Peake 18 and Sharon Nicholson chipped in with 10.

Hide AdIt was the first of six league matches to be played in August and early September and was played in a great spirit by both teams.
“It is long overdue that women’s competitive cricket has returned to Chichester,” said club chairman Tim Gregory, who hopes this will boost the women’s game locally.
