Brighton star hopes to never have to celebrate a Crystal Palace goal ever again

Albion's place in the top flight was confirmed for another season on Saturday when Cardiff lost 3-2 at home to Crystal Palace.

Cardiff needed to win to have any chance of overtaking Brighton but the defeat left them four points behind the Seagulls with just one game to play.

The Albion players were in their hotel watching the game together, before yesterday's 1-1 draw with Arsenal, but Dunk feels it was Albion's results throughout the season which sealed their safety and not Palace's win at the Bluebirds.

Speaking after the draw at Arsenal, he said: "I was watching it. We couldn't do anything about it. We just had to watch it and hope that Palace won the game and thankfully they did.

"People are saying they done us a favour but we've got more points than Cardiff at the end of the day.

"If that game was at the same time as ours it wouldn't have been said so much. We've got more points and are in the league and they've (Cardiff) gone down.

"We've got to move on from that now. We've got one more game to go and then will get ready for a big one next year."

Asked if he hopes to avoid celebrating a Crystal Palace goal again in the future, the Brighton born-and-bred defender said: "Definitely. I don't think I ever will again - hopefully not anyway."
