Bob Champion at Fontwell races on Sunday May 30

BOB Champion, who won the 1981 Grand National on Aldaniti after surviving a battle with cancer, is currently undertaking a 60/60 challenge 29 years on.

He is visiting 60 racecourses in Britain in 60 days, aiming to encourage more people to go racing as well as raise much needed funds for the Bob Champion Cancer Trust and the Injured Jockeys Fund.

As part of this mammoth fundraising effort, he will be at Fontwell Park's next meeting on Sunday (May 30). Bob will arrange a special package for all the supporters who wish to join him. He has obtained a pass for the Champion's 60:60 Charity Challenge.

At Fontwell Park, in return for a 50 minimum donation, each person will gain free entry to the Club enclosure, discover how racing works behind the scenes, meet with Bob Champion and may be able to walk the track before racing.

All of this is combined with a photo opportunity with Bob and some of the jockeys on the day, plus visiting celebrities. The events will be sponsored by Lotus cars. This is a Family Race Day Sunday when the first race is at 2pm and the last race at 5.25pm.

There will be free entertainment for children with The Sound of High School Musical Show live on stage, also be fun fairs rides, a mascot race, bouncy castles, face painters and a pets corner.
