Bexhill confident ahead of top clash

BEXHILL United manager Bill Trivett says his team is confident going into its "biggest game of the season".

The Sussex Division Three leaders take on title rivals Storrington at the Polegrove on Saturday February 19.

United are two points ahead of their unbeaten West Sussex opponents, who have won all five of their matches during 2005, but have played three additional fixtures. Third-placed Lingfield are a further five points adrift and two teams are expected to gain promotion.

"This is the one," Trivett said. "It's the biggest one of the season and we have been waiting and waiting for it. A point would not be too bad, but we really are concentrating on three points. If we can beat Storrington then it's game on in terms of the title, but if Storrington do get the three points on Saturday, I think we can kiss goodbye to it."

Bexhill, unbeaten in their last 14 league games and last 10 league and cup ties, are likely to stick with the team that beat St Leonards Social 3-2 in last Saturday's Hastings FA Intermediate Cup semi-final. Adam Quinn (groin) and Andy Matthews (toe) remain sidelined. Kick-off is 3pm.

Sidley United are also involved in a big game, but for very different reasons because they continue their fight against relegation from the top flight with a home match against basement boys Sidlesham.
