Battlers staying up!

WORTHING HARRIERS pulled together strongly and put together a last 90 minutes of gold to secure their future in Division 2 at West Park on Saturday.

They defeated three teams placed well above them in the table, including promotion-placed Kent AC, and brushed aside the only one below them, Aylesbury.

Team manager Tony Deleiros, a former world veterans sprint champion departs to live in New Zealand this winter. He said: "The strongest team we were able to put together decided if we would go down to Division 3 for the first time in 15 seasons. They were even hotter on the day than the weather. When the chips were down they came up with the goods.
