Youth jailed for foreign student attacks

A sixteen-year-old boy has been sentenced to four years imprisonment for his part in a series of robberies on foreign students in Worthing, Shoreham and Hove.

Craig Lidbetter, from Sompting, was sentenced at Chichester Crown Court after he admitted an involvement in eight incidents between May and August last year.

DC Steve Edwards of Sussex Police said: "We are pleased with the result which shows we take positive action in relation to street robberies. The sentence sends out a message that this behaviour will not be tolerated."
