Youth focus at town forum

YOUNG people will be the focus of Bexhill Town Forum at its next meeting on Tuesday March 22 at the De La Warr Pavilion.

The Forum, which starts at 6.30pm, will incorporate a presentation from pupils of Bexhill High who will talk about their new school and way of learning, and one from members of Bexhill Rowing Club.

Chairman Paul Plim said: “The executive committee would like to give the younger members of our community the opportunity to participate in their own Bexhill Youth Forum and to this end the agenda for this part of the meeting has been tailored to accommodate a younger audience.”

A feature of the Forum is to enable the public to express views on local issues and vote on any matter. It acts as a focus for consultation and considers a wide range of topics and initiatives, also providing opportunity for members to meet Rother District Council officers and members, as well as county councillors.

A 20-minute period is available at the start of the next meeting for members of the public to ask a question or make a statement relating to council services in the town.

Any member of the public wishing to speak in the public forum should give notice in advance. The time allocated for this purpose is two minutes per person.

Please advise Carolyn Turner, Democratic Services Officer at the Town Hall, Bexhill, of your intentions either by telephone on 01424 787814 or via email to [email protected] which will make it easier for a full reply to be provided at the meeting.
