Whopping cheque for 1066 Specials

A "whopping" Â£1,500 was presented to 1066 Specials football club by Bexhill 100 Motoring Club following its successful bank holiday fundraising.

Bexhill 100 Motoring Club's chairman Dave Dicken Smith visited the club to hand over the cheque and meet members during their regular training session.

The money is part of the profits from the Bexhill 100 Motoring Club's popular show at the Polegrove back in August this year.

1066 Specials fundraiser Brian Wyatt commented: "The Specials were nominated as one of their Charities of The Year.

"Dave said they are supporting three local charities this year, and it was good to call in and see just what the money donated is used for."

The 1066 Specials is a football club for children and adults with disabilities and special needs covering Bexhill, Hastings, Rother and surrounding areas, with a membership of around 90 ranging from 5 years old up to 40plus.
