Wedding day bliss on 12/12/12... at 12.12pm

Some might say three is the magic number. But a pair of newlyweds in Littlehampton may have a thing, or 12, to say about that.

Long-time partners Jane and Christopher Dunston finally decided to tie the knot – on the 12th day, of the 12th month at midday, last Wednesday (December 12).

But to top it all off, bride Jane, 37, was a further 12-minutes late for her special day, at St Mary’s Church.

“It’s something that won’t happen for another 100 years,” admitted Jane, who lives with her husband and 18-month daughter Amy, in Timberleys.

“We had been together for 14 years and engaged for seven.

“We’d always meant to get married but we never found the right time to do it.

“This was just a really special way to celebrate our big day.”

Jane added that the couple had tried to tie the knot on the 11th of the 11th, 2011 but said that the timing just wasn’t right.

“We had things going on in the family so we just couldn’t do it then.”

However, she said that the delay was worth every penny.

“Our wedding was beautiful. There was a touch of frost on the ground and everything looked so pretty. It really was the perfect day.”

The loving duo are planning on having their honeymoon later next year.

When asked if 12 was their lucky number, Jane said: “It’s certainly a very special one for us, so yes, I guess it is.”
