The Littlehampton Carnival Association is looking for a people to become part of the fun-loving team marshalling the procession route during this year’s event, on Saturday, July 6.

This is a one-off opportunity to be part of one of the town’s largest events on its summer calendar. No skills are required, just an enthusiastic attitude.

St Barnabas House hospice, in Worthing, is seeking “community champions” to step out into the light to offer support to terminally-ill patients and their carers.

The volunteers, who would visit the homes of service users, should have excellent communication and listening skills, be reliable and a good time-keeper. They are also urged to be non-judgemental and respect the differences of patients and carers.

An insight into palliative care would be helpful as well as an ability to empathise with the client. An introductory session will be held on Thursday, at 10am, at St Barnabas House, in Titnore Lane, Durrington.

Wick’s Cancer United shop is searching for a retail assistant to help with the day-to-day running of the store, in Wick Street. The shop would like to recruit volunteers to work on a Tuesday and Friday between 1pm and 5pm, and on a Saturday between 9am and 5pm. Applicants would undertake tasks ranging from sales, stock rotation, labelling and steaming clothes for customers.

Arun Counselling Centre is seeking a new treasurer to attend its management committee meetings four times a year as well as overseeing a monthly review of the organisation’s books.

Editors and magazine producers are needed to help produce Littlehampton and Worthing’s talking newspaper for the blind and partial-sighted, The Voice of Progress. Editors would need to commit a few hours a every eight weeks to edit local news articles for recording. Magazine producers would be responsible for creating two, 40-minute long programmes every year.
