Vines Cross Bonfire Society held its annual bonfire and firework display on Thursday last week.

On a crisp evening first came the torchlight procession round the village, with over 200 torches and flaming banners one celebrating the arrival of the new landlords of The Brewer s Arms, Sarah and Keith Hillman. The Barcombe Scout Band and the Hastings Samba band provided the music. Lyn Shaw lit the bonfire, which was followed

by a dazzling display by Neil Baker Pyrotechnics, when over 2,500 of fireworks were set off to the delight of the large crowd. With next year in mind a fund-raising auction was held afterwards, while the revellers munched their way through hundreds of hot dogs and burgers in a truly excellent night all round!
