Video: Residents speak out over loss of Kensington Street murals

Preparations have begun for construction work that will spell the end for iconic murals in Kensington Street.

Barriers were put up last week to cordon off the former parking spaces, which have become one of the oldest freestyle art sites in Brighton.

One resident said there should be a new space allocated for street art in the city, following the loss of the site.

Planning permission was granted in November last year for the construction of 12 flats on the Kensington Street plot.

A Brighton and Hove City Council spokeswoman said building work was expected to start in early summer.
