UPDATE: Woman treated by paramedics after A27 crash

A woman is being treated by paramedics after a serious collision on the A27 this afternoon (April 20).

Emergency services were called to the collision involving a car and a lorry on the A27 at Polegate at around 1.36pm.

Police say the car is reported to have collided with the lorry, hit a tree and rolled.

The driver is being treated by paramedics at the scene. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The lorry driver was unhurt.

The road is closed by Drusillas roundabout in both directions while the vehicles are recovered. There are long delays between the Beddingham Roundabout and the Polegate By-pass junction. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
