LENT LUNCH: Apologies for the very short notice, but I've just discovered that the first of this year's Lent Lunches will be in Brede Rectory today (Friday) starting at noon and finishing at 1.30 pm. If you read this in time and are free at lunch time, do go along. Hot soup will be followed by bread and cheese: no charge, but donations for the Hope House Orphanage in Kenya will be gratefully received. There will be two further lunches in the Rectory, on Fridays March 24 and April 7. I'll hope to remind you of these, giving you a little more notice than this time.

SPRING FASHION SHOW: In case you didn’t see this column last week (or one of the posters advertising the event) please note that this exciting Show will be in the Hall at 7pm on Thursday March 23. Please see next week’s column for full details.

RECIPE COOKBOOK: The editors of the proposed cookbook, full of our local favourite recipes, are extremely grateful for the contributions received so far. As they could do with just a few more, they have extended the deadline to the end of this month, so please think of any other particularly good recipes you may have and consider offering them for inclusion in this interesting new publication. If you would like to know more details, please ring Liz Dean (01424 882206): she would be delighted to help.
