Time running out to apply for grants for well-being activities

Voluntary and community organisations are urged not to delay in sending in their application to a West Sussex County Council grants programme that funds activities helping vulnerable adults and older people get out into the community.

Groups are reminded that they have a month left to apply for a share of the total £190,000 in this year’s Prevention and Wellbeing Grants Programme.

Under the programme groups can apply for up to £5,000. Applications will be accepted only up to April 5.

One of the key aims is for people to get out, make friends and see others.

Last year awards ranged between £170 and £5,000 and ranged from awards for lunch club equipment to venue costs for support groups.

Peter Catchpole, Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Services’, said: “I would urge people to apply for funding to set up community activities.

“Last year there were some very good schemes that helped contribute to the aims of our prevention and well-being agenda and I would like to see similar projects this time around.”
