Teenage mum attacked in front of baby

A young mum is recovering after being assaulted in a Bognor Regis street in front of her baby.

The 18-year-old woman was attacked in Durban Road by another young woman, leaving the victim with cuts and bruises and shaken by the incident.

At the time she had her six-month-old baby with her.

The attack happened at around 12.30pm on Monday, but police have only today (Thursday) released details and made an appeal for witnesses.

Officers said there was a Green Astra parked near to the incident. According to the female victim a member of the public tried to intervene in the assault.

Officers have said they would like to speak this person or any other member of the public who may have information about the assault.
