Margaret Gilbert, of the Rustington Heritage Association, will be giving an illustrated talk about St Mary’s Church, on Thursday.

Margaret will be describing the potted history of the church, based in Vicarage Lane, which has been a place of worship for countless people for more than 800 years.

Visitors will be able to hear about the role St Mary’s played in early villagers’ lives, as well as the effect of various religious upheavals, and the impact of the parish church’s first vicar, little more than a century ago.

The talk about the Grade I listed building will be taking place inside the John de Bohun Room, in the Woodland Centre, Woodlands Avenue, in Rustington, at 2.30pm.

Everyone is welcome to attend, the association said.

Tickets will be available on the door.

Entrance for members is £1 per person and for visitors it is £3.
