Success for Bexhill College students

International Baccalaureate students at Bexhill College are celebrating outstanding results in their exams.

This was the first cohort of the IB for the College and the students worked hard to achieve top grades in a number of different subjects.

The students have to study a wide range of subjects on the IB including, English, Maths, a Science, a Humanity, a Language plus another option of their choice. In addition, they have to produce an extended essay and take part in Creativity, Action and Service unit which requires them to undertake voluntary work, sporting activity and practical activities. It is a very demanding programme.

Each unit is graded out of 7 (being the top grade) and 7's were achieved in Psychology and 6's in English, Economics and French. Some examples of outstanding achievement include Tom Fryer who received an 'A' in his Theory of Knowledge Paper and Siboney Rabenstein who achieved an 'A' in her extended essay.

All students have secured places at University.

Principal Karen Hucker said, "We are extremely pleased with the results of the first cohort of students. The IB is a challenging programme which requires a broad knowledge and understanding across disciplines to pass and these students rose to this exceptionally well."
