Students shine at Drama Festival

During the festival, scenes from plays such as The Musicians by Patrick Marber, The Vackees by Hiawyn Oram and The Scary Play by Judith Johnston were performed with skill and polish by students from years seven to eleven.

Performances were to an audience of their peers during the day and to over three hundred family and friends over the two evenings.

The audiences were hugely entertained by the fantastic comic performances of The Perils of Pauline, The King’s New Clothes and Welcome to Whitewall and emotionally moved by the year eleven students impressive presentation of the political piece ‘Do We Ever See Grace?’ by Noel Grieg.

The Festival was held at the College’s Milligan Theatre, which is run by Tech Event.

GCSE Performing Arts students worked alongside this professional team learning backstage and design skills.

It was a culmination of work created in class and extracurricular clubs.

Head of Drama, Sarah Wall said: “I would like to congratulate all of the 103 students who took part, for their passion, commitment and talent and thank Tech Event and her colleagues for their support.”
