Students send boxes full of love

Dozens of packages of love are being sent to deprived children from a Barnham school.

Students at St Philip Howard Catholic High School collected almost 60 shoeboxes packed with presents for the youngsters in Eastern Europe.

Led by history teacher Sarah Martin, they collected a range of items to fill the boxes.

The goodies ranged from toothbrushes to chocolates and from jewellery to hats and scarves.

All were carefully wrapped in festive paper. The boxes will be the only Christmas present the children in eastern Europe receive.

It is the fifth year Miss Martin has inspired the pupils at St Philip Howard to take part in the Love in a Box campaign.

It is run by the Mustard Seed Shoe Box Appeal based at Eastbourne.
