Storrington and Pulborough District Rotary welcomes its new President

Pippa Davies, a member of the Rotary Club of Storrington and Pulborough District since January 2011, is the branch’s new President.

Pippa and her family moved to Partridge Green, West Sussex from West Wickham, Kent in 1997 and more recently she and her husband moved to Thakeham. They have a son who is a corporate lawyer in London.

Beginning her career as an officer in the Metropolitan Police Force, she re-trained and specialised in educational and personal development for children and adults who have learning disabilities. For the past 15 years Pippa has managed West Sussex Learning Links, a unique countywide charity which presently supports over 140 adults who have learning disabilities to access mainstream learning and leisure opportunities with support from volunteer ‘buddies’.

One of Pippa’s main roles is fundraising and during the past 15 years she has raised just over £1.3 million, this will have supported all the running costs of the Charity until June 2017. In her spare time she also enjoys getting out and about with both her husband and son, gardening, reading and walking the family’s two dogs.

Pippa joined the and says: “Rotary is an important part of my life, giving both enjoyment and the opportunity to support worthwhile projects in both my local community and internationally. The friendships and fellowship of other members has been a very big additional bonus and I am very much looking forward to the year ahead as President of such a great Club.”
