Stop For Tea Day

A Stop For Tea Day is to be held at The Gael in Sea Road next Friday (September 28).

From 10-4.00pm everyone is invited in for a cup of tea and biscuit during this fundraising event which has a suitably strong Scottish flavour - the biscuit will actually be shortbread, and pipe music will be played at intervals during the day.

The deputy mayor Cllr Patrick Douart will pop by at 11.30, possibly in time to see owner Pat Donoghue perform on the drums at 12.00 although there will be another chance at 3pm.

Her brother Peter is organising the Stop For Tea Day to raise money for the NSPCC, which he has supported for 20 years since he first ran a half-marathon and wanted to represent a charity. His late mother suggested the NSPCC and it has remained important to him ever since.

He said: "With A Stop For Tea Day people come in for a come of tea and biscuit and then they make a donation to the NSPCC. With my sister having a shop we thought of combining the day, and having the Scottish theme with shortbread and tea, and a piper playing at different times."

He is planning a number of fundraising events in Hastings and Bexhill - for further details call him on 212365
