Southwick Players perform farce by former president

Southwick Players are proud to present See How They Run, a farce in three acts described by West End critics as a ‘positive riot’ and ‘a show to leave you exhausted from laughter’.

Billed as Dad’s Army meets Noel Coward, it was penned in 1943 by the then Southwick Players president, the late Philip King, who went on to become an accomplished playwright with his work being performed in theatres all over the country.

Join the Rev Toop and his rather theatrical wife Penelope in the vicarage for a case of mistaken identity as no less than five vicars take to the stage, resulting in a fast-paced show that will leave audiences breathless.

The play is set in World War Two and the village inhabitants are preparing themselves for imminent threat of Nazi invasion.

Meanwhile, resident spinster and battle-axe Miss Skillon becomes convinced the wife of her beloved vicar is having an affair and attempts to expose her.

See How They Run is directed by Richard Lindfield. It will be performed at The Barn Theatre, Southwick, from March 9 to 12 at 7.30pm daily. Tickets are £11 from the box office on 01273 597094.
