Skills and confidence courses to get back into work

AMICUSHORIZON is running a motivational programme to equip local people to develop the skills and confidence to get involved in their communities.

The Get On Plus programme is aimed at unemployed and low waged people and will run for three months in Battle from the end of January.

The practical courses include an introduction to mentoring, where participants will learn how to support and motivate other people.

This is ideal for those who would like to work with people or volunteer in the community.

The informal courses will include taster sessions on floristry, first aid and cooking on a budget.

And there’s the option to take part in personal development short courses, which includes learning basic IT skills, CV writing and interview practice.

The Get On Plus project, funded by the Big Lottery Fund, is a continuation of the popular Get On project run by AmicusHorizon from 2008-11.

For more information, contact the Sussex Community Development Team on 0800 121 60 60 or text Get on Plus to 07815 575753 and the organisation will call you back.
