Search is on for Carnival Queen

THE search is on for the three local girls who will represent Bexhill at public events for the next year.

The town's Carnival Court, Anita Clow, Mia Stevens and Katie Roy stand down tomorrow after their year of office.

On behalf of Bexhill Carnival Committee, court chaperone Caroline Forrow is now seeking entries for the annual selection contest at Manor Barn tomorrow.

Judges will be looking for entrants with charm and personality who can represent the town not only on its own Carnival Day when their float will have pride of place in the procession from Sidley to Polegrove, but at carnivals in towns across the South East.

Whoever become Bexhill's new Carnival Queen and her Princesses, they will begin work almost immediately. The Saturday selection contest will be followed by a busy Bank Holiday weekend including appearances at the centenary Bexhill 100 Festival of Motoring.

Entrants must be 15 or over and resident in Bexhill. Entry details are available from Mrs Forrow on 732120.
