Schoolboy's fundraising effort

HE said he'd do it again and now he has!Super schoolboy James Mascall has organised another sponsored run, raising £300 for Zachary Merton Hospital, in memory of his grandmother Vera Pettit.

This means the hospital's league of friends now has two brand new wheelchairs, thanks to his efforts.

Zachary Merton's League of Friends chairman Steve Simmonds was absolutely delighted with James' contribution.

"It's great that these young people have made such a brilliant effort to support the work we do for older members of the community. We now have extra facilities to offer which we wouldn't otherwise have."

The Littlehampton School year nine pupil wanted to give something back to the hospital, which had cared so well for his termially ill grandmother, that he made up his mind to organise the sponsored runs. He raised 400 two years ago when he lined up friends, fellow pupils and even teachers to take part in two sponsored runs.
