Row4Charity to race across Indian Ocean

Four Bexhill Rowing Club members aim to compete in the Indian Ocean Race 2009.

They are Matt Hellier, Phil McCory, Nick McCory and Ian Allen who would not only be the sole British fours team to enter, but also the youngest competitors in the race.

Spokesman for Row4Charity Geoff Dixon said: "These four boys from Bexhill Rowing Club are hoping to enter the Indian Ocean Race 2009 to both raise a lot of money for the Stroke Association and be the only British entrant in the four man rowing boat.

"They are all ex-university graduates, and between them have won many trophies and competitions for rowing and are in full training for this event.

"To raise funds we are organising an on-line general knowledge quiz, which we believe is the first of its kind."

Row4Charity is now inviting everyone to enter an on-line general knowledge quiz with a minimum prize of 1000.

This prize money will rise as 1 will be added to the total for each team entry to the quiz. There are no restrictions to team sizes and the quiz is open to families, pubs, clubs and associations '“ but team members must be 18 and over. The closing date for registration is November 24 and the quiz itself takes place online on Wednesday November 26 between 8-9.30pm.
